Google My Business is a free tool that lets you manage how your business appears on Google Search and Maps. Google is by far the most used search engine and in order to be found, you need to play by their rules. Which right now, means you need to have an online business listing.


Your listing includes adding your business name, location, and hours; monitoring and replying to customer reviews; adding photos and posts; learning where and how people are searching for you, and most importantly, improving how your business shows up on local search.

Google My Business is completely free to use. The only requirement for using it is that you must have some face-to-face interaction with your customers -- in other words, you can’t operate 100% online. If you aren't sure if you fit into this category, let us know. We can discuss your options.


How do I get listed?

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Log into your Google Business Account. If you don't have one, you can create one for free.

  2. Go to Google Business Listings and select “Start now” in the top right-hand corner.

  3. Enter your business name and address. *If you work out of your house or another address you don’t want publicly shown, Check “Hide my address (it's not a store) Only show region.”*

  4. Choose your business category. Try to choose the most accurate category possible -- you’re essentially telling Google which type of customers they should send to your business listing.

  5. Add your business phone number or website.

  6. Choose a verification option.
